Feliz día del Mariachi!!
These kids never seize to amaze us. They are beautiful souls all of them and we are so very proud of them!!
Preparing to perform at the Hayward Mariachi Festival.
Last Tuesday, May 21st was our last day of classes for this season. With pride and tears we said goodbye to our 4 seniors who are heading off to college. Jairo Hernandez, attending Cal State Hayward, David Contreras, attending Cal State Hayward, Michelle Curiel, attending UC Merced and Catalina Velasco, attending University of Redlands (not pictured here). We presented each one of them with certificates and small scholarships. We also acknowledged our beginner students who mi...ssed the least amount of days and always came prepared as follows: Jophiel Cervantes (not pictured); Alexa Salcedo; Daniel Salcedo; Anahi Salcedo; Marco Perez; Rafael Salcedo; and Omar Sanchez. We presented Russell Robinson with a certificate of appreciation for always being there for us and lastly but not least we acknowledged our teachers because without them we wouldn't have a program. A million thanks to Maestro Pablo Jaramillo (guitarron and Armonia teacher and pictured with his beautiful daughter Ximena), Maestro Adrian Hernandez (trumpet teacher), and maestro Eusebio Verdin (violin teacher). At the end we were surprised by one of our juniors, Alonso Contreras, who informed us that due to his excellent grades he was graduating early (skipped 12th grade). So we had 5 graduates in total. We are so very, very proud of our kids!!! Kudos to our parents too who make our program what it is. We will start the new season in September. See more
The kids working on team projects, during JAM yesterday.
Congratulations to Jocelyn Avalos, who was promoted today from beginner to the intermediate level. We are so very proud of her and what she has accomplished in a short period of time. Keep up the good work Jocelyn!! Hip, hip olé!!
We are super blessed to have such wonderful teachers, who are not only experienced in mariachi music but genuinely care about our kids and our program. In this field, teachers like this are very hard to find. Kudos to them!! From left to right: Adrian Hernandez (trumpet), Pablo Jaramillo (armonia), Eusebio Verdin (violin) and Juan Varela.
More pictures from our serenata to our Virgen of Guadalupe shared to us by Joseph A. Mccalip. Thanks so much Joseph!
Today we had a wonderful time at Rockin Jump with the advanced students. Once a year we take them on a small field trip that allows them to build comradery. We believe that to become a great mariachi group they first have to become a great team.
Kudos to our kids and parents!!! Yesterday once again our kids had the honour of serenating our Virgen de Guadalupe at St. Leanders Church in San Leandro. It never seizes to amaze us how truly blessed our group is. We were a bit worry that we wouldn't have enough kids to perform as our seniors have gone off to College. But at the end Luis Loza, one of our seniors, who had just flown in came to help followed by our 3 teachers from Mariachi Mi Tierra Linda - Pablo Jaramillo, Eusebio Verdin and Adrian Hernandez and lastly but certainly not least one of our parents from Banda Rio Verde, Armando Islas, also stepped in to help. If this isn't a family, we just don't know what is. Our heart is full of appreciation and humbleness to have such beautiful people in our mariachi family.
The kids presented yesterday at the grand opening event for the new Hayward Public Library.
The kids presenting at the Hayward Area Historical Society for the Día de los Muertos celebration. A huge thanks to Armando Garcia, who although being away in college, came to help. Also many thanks to all our kids and parents for their time and dedication. We are so blessed!!!
Today the kids performed at the Hayward Mariachi Festival. They did great and had a lot of fun. They even met and interviewed with Ramon Adame from Univision. Kudos to all our kids, parents and teachers (Maestro Pablo Jaramillo, Eusebio Verdin, Adrian Hernandez and Hugo Piña) without them we wouldn't be US.
Flashback! to one of our most memorable presentations!
