Mare Island Shoreline Heritage Preserve 16.12.2020

Good evening my Mare Island Preserve wildlands community friends. I created this event this morning with a most touching and sincere message to you for New Years Eve. Amazing, as it all too often is on Facebook Events, it glitched away my personal invite. So, here you go, again. Nitro and I are inviting you to join us for a virtual gathering on New Years Eve at 6:30pm. We will be Facebook Live until 7pm. Let’s hang out together. Visit a bit. I’d like for us to reminisce about... what we love about the Mare Island Preserve and dream in real time about what we expect in 2021 for our our sublime and divine place of peace and inspiration. We know it has been our refuge and delight for nearly 13 years. We need to honor each other and our incredible volunteer team as we’ve struggled through a horrendous year, here. I’m certain things will change for the better. And, soon. Join me live and share our moments together. If you wish, please visit our website, www.mareislandpreserve.com sign and share our petition to return as gracious and knowledgeable managers and hosts. If you wish to contribute to our nonprofit organization, please also donate on our website, not the petition site. We receive none of those funds. So, in less than an hour, go Live with Nite and me. We wish you the very best New Year. Be safe. Be well. Be kind. Myrna and Nite. See more

Join Myrna and Nitro this evening for a moment together reminiscing and celebrating the New Year and the Mare Island Preserve. All Facebook Live. No driving by or walking together. Just a sweet moment to share what makes our Mare Island Preserve Wildlands Community so precious to us. It’s the wilderness(Wild Near Us), the sublime and the divine of this sacred space that reminds us as the wildness we truly are, of our Mother Earth home, of the land, of its past times we rememb...er and the brighter future following this year seemingly nothing but disastrous within the Preserve and throughout the world. Tonight, I’m planning to sit together with you Live, briefly. Let’s take a little moment to hold each other close. To honor our sacred and magical lands here on Mare Island and to express to each other what our wildlands community continues to mean to us. I’m so confident that times will be better. And, very soon. Myrna Hayes... p.s. if you haven’t signed our petition to return to the management of this land in the way we do, please sign and share on www.mareislandpreserve.com If you would like to make a donation to our nonprofit organization, please do so on our website. Not the petition site. We get none of those funds. All my best in this New and hopeful year. See more

For some explosive NEWS this morning, thought you’d like a revisit of one of my treasured public education events at the Mare Island Preserve. Yes, it really, truly is and will be on the Navy’s oldest Naval Ammunition Depot in the Pacific. And, yes, there really are and may remain potentially live, explosive materials in perpetuity. For the moment, watch and rewatch the WOW! Of blowing shit up. Sometimes, it’s just cool. THIS, my friends, is just one example of why our Pr...eserve is such an unique treasure worth fighting for. Pinch yourself. This took place while we were open to the public! Unforgettable!! PLEASE, sign and share our petition to return under our gentle and trusted care. And, if you will, please donate. Both on our website. Do NOT donate on the petition site. We DON’T receive any of those funds. Thank you! Go now to: www.mareislandpreserve.com See more

You may wonder why you are getting this event announcement on the Mare Island Preserve feed this morning. Because nearly 9,000 of our Preserve Users and Lovers and friends have borne witness to the Domestic Violence of our beloved, beautiful and sacred Mother Earth at the Mare Island Preserve by the Vallejo leaders, the City Manager, the Majority members of City Council and our Congressman, and the current Master developers of the Island, among a host of wrong-doers. You kno...w in your pained hearts that what has happened in our Preserve and to our team of faithful volunteers, IS DOMESTIC VIOLENCE! Attend(I will be Live on my personal FB site) and pray for the restoration of our Mare Island Preserve and it’s nature and history wildlands community. A reminder to join us at 11am at Vallejo City Hall, the gathering place for justice in our little town, this morning. The program will be uplifting, full of love, hope, prayers, meditation, stories and the power of love, justice and truth. I’ve had a small role in planning with my community sisters. Credit to our elders and young people, together. I will be Facebook Live streaming. I have batteries charged and pray that this old cell phone doesn’t overheat and shut off. We’ve also had connectivity issues at that location in the past. Stay tuned. Return. All is well. Myrna Hayes

My long time friend and equally long time volunteer, Barbara Morris wrote this brief comment on my recent post regarding the City Councilperson and Mayor candidate I refer to as HB. Her words brought my follow up thoughts out of my troubled heart. You know the battle for our beautiful Mare Island Preserve we have waged since going public with the abuse and yes, lies by the new City Manager and his team as early as April 2018 soon after he arrived. You know we were removed ...Continue reading

City Hall finally changed the sign. No other word posted. And, they destroyed our $4,000k of wayfinding signs and Preserve ID signage. But, then, who cares?! I’ll tell you who does. 7,400 of you have signed our petition online to reopen under our gentle and respected care and permanently...I guess we should add. Another 1,000 signed the same petition by hand before Covid. You still can sign and share. If you really get busy and write a note to your friends about what the Preserve has meant to you and your family and friends, we’d sure appreciate you! Please donate on our website, not on the petition. We get none of that contribution. Visit www.mareislandpreserve.com sign our petition. Share. Donate. We love you!
