For most of human history, the rich have rolled over the poor, and the powerful over the weak. It was our founders who saw that the true right of government control belonged to the people and that the l legitimacy of our new government would rely solely on the consent of the people. The founders left behind rule by monarchs, tyrants, or God appointed kings and queens and gave people the power to control their own destiny. It wasn’t until today, when I reread the Declaration of Independence, that I could answer the question of where in history would you go back in time to if you could? I want to go back to 1776 and be in the room where the discussions took place of how this new country would be started.

A couple of years ago I discovered @davidgoggins and soon after the idea of triathlons, summiting Whitney, and doing bike rides like this started to seem appealing. Hit a few walls with outright muscles failure around 50 miles in but completed the ride from Malibu to Santa Barbara with 67.5 miles. Maybe a 100 mile ride is next but need to conquer Whitney again in July. I highly recommend you listen to his audiobook if you need some motivation to push yourself out of your comfort zone.
