! The Madera County Transportation Commission (MCTC) is currently preparing its Project Prioritization Study (Study) for the Madera County region. The Study will estimate projected revenues available for transportation improvements in the next 25 years, as well as identify the funding shortfall resulting from these projections. The Study will provide a prioritized list of transportation... projects and programs, identify currently planned projects, identify projects not currently planned for, and establish costs to complete all identified projects. MADERA 99 WIDENING PROJECT WORK SCHEDULED THIS WEEK November 1 November 6 The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) in cooperation with Security Paving Company announces construction on State Route 99 between Avenue 12 and Avenue 17 for the Madera 99 Widening Project.... The southbound State Route 99 Almond Avenue on-ramp to remain closed. The southbound State Route 99 Gateway Drive off-ramp remains closed long term. The northbound State Route 99 Gateway Drive off-ramp remains closed long term. The northbound State Route 99 Avenue 12 on-ramp to remain closed. Between the hours of 8:00 p.m. and 5:30 a.m., starting on Sunday night and ending on Friday morning, the following closures will be in effect: Northbound State Route 99: Intermittent lane reductions from Avenue 12 to Gateway Drive. Intermittent lane reductions from the Fresno River to Avenue 18 . Southbound State Route 99: Intermittent lane reductions from Avenue 18 to the Fresno River. Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur. Caltrans reminds you to drive with extra care and allow additional time while travelling near construction zones. Please be alert for construction personnel and remember to Slow for the Cone Zone.

For Immediate Release UPDATE ON THE SOUTH GATEWAY DRIVE OVERPASS RESURFACING AND REHABILITATION PROJECT IN MADERA. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), along with American Civil Constructors West Coast LLC, announces an update to the scheduled project to resurface and rehabilitate the South Gateway Drive overpass, across State Route 99, in Madera.... The following will occur: The resurfacing project continues, and the bridge is set to reopen by 4:00 p.m. tomorrow. The single lane traffic control, that was scheduled for next week, and set to last 15 working days, has been tentatively postponed until the week of November 9th. Pedestrian access across the overpass will remain open. Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur. Caltrans reminds you to drive with extra care and allow additional time while travelling near construction zones. Please be alert for construction personnel and remember to Slow for the Cone Zone.

The Road 30 Improvement project consists of improving approximately 500 feet of Road 30 from Avenue 12 to the north, along the western boundary of the Madera Co...llege campus. The project will rehabilitate the road segment, install new curb & gutter, and extend the sidewalk from the corner of Avenue 12/Road 30. These improvements will help to provide pedestrian facilities and eliminate the dust generated from traffic on the dirt shoulder. The project is funded with County Measure T funds, State SB-1 funds, and Federal Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) funds. See more

The full Notice of Intent to Adopt a Mitigated Negative Declaration can be found on the SJJPA’s Project webpage at https://sjjpa.com/madera-station-relocation-project/, along with the Draft IS/MND and related documents. In accordance with time limits mandated by State law, written comments on the Draft Initial/Mitigated Negative Declaration will be accepted from October 14, 2020 through November 16, 2020. The County is replacing the bridge on Road 23 between Ave 18 and Ave 18-1/2 (at Dry Creek). The project will replace the existing 78-foot salvaged train flat ca...r girder bridge (constructed in 1969) with a new 80-foot pre-cast pre-stressed bulb-tee girder bridge that is designed and constructed to current standards. The project is scheduled to be completed in March 2021, barring any unforeseen issues. See more

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), along with American Civil Constructors West Coast LLC, announces the scheduled project to resurface and rehabilitate the South Gateway Drive overpass, across State Route 99, in Madera. The following will occur: The rehabilitation project will begin Monday morning, October 12th. The entire project is scheduled to last 35 working days. From October 12th through October 23rd, the overpass will be closed to all motorists. Pedestrian access across the overpass will remain. After the full closure work is completed on October 23rd, single lane traffic control will be provided for an additional 15 working days. Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur. I had the opportunity to represent the County of Madera at the groundbreaking ceremony today, 10-5, for a new 52 unit low to very low income housing complex loc...ated near Olive Ave and SR 99. There will also be 16 units reserved for clients of Madera County Behavioral Health. The project partners include Self Help Enterprises, UnitedHealth, and the County of Madera.
