Mackenzie Kay Costuming

Shay and her husband have desided to try to get pregnat for the second time. She came to me and asked me to maker her a gown that she could wear befor during and after the pregnancy. This is the dress that I'm making her. There will also be a dark blue overgown with it. As soon as Im done I will take pics for you all to see

Ann's consult yesterday was wonderful. She came soo very well prepaired with all her fabric, the thread, the patterns that she liked, as well as everything that she wanted already planed out. This is going to be a very fun project.

It has beena very intresting start to the year. So fare I have about 5 commitions for this year. Today my dear friend and client Shay come over for a pattern fitting and to go fabric shopping. Tomorrow I will start her underdress and next week Ill get going on her over gown. She is going to look amazing at The Valhalla Renaissance Faire. I also have Ann coming over tomorrow for a consultation for a wonderful dress for the Old Sac days. Then some time in the next couple of months I start 3 Regancy day dresses for a mother and her 2 daughters.

I would like to apologize to all my costumers and FB Page followers for my lack of posting. On February 5th I had a very intensive knee surgery on repair some hereditary issues with my knees. The healing as been slow but I’m back up and sewing. I have a couple of commotions here and there but I’m egger and willing to take on some more.

Well, to say that I completly lost my mind would state that I have a brain in the first place. I got it into my silly brain that I wanted to make 2 complet dresses for the Edwardian Ball in 2 days. Yep, thats right 2 days. Complet Bustle dresses and there also somewhat matching. One for myself and one for my Step Daughter Elyza. Well Im proud to say that Im also done with both. All thats left on Elyzas Dress is to make and attach the Sleevelets and her Dress is complet. On My... dress- The Apron Bustled over shirt and underskirt is 100% completed and put into the garmet bag. Leaving only the Bodice to complet. And even with that the only thing that need to get done is attach the sleeves together, put the bonning in the side lacing seams and put the grommets in. Thats it. 2 Dresses in a little over 48 hours. I rock my own soaks off. LOL Im one proud seamstress. See more

Sorry for not posting latly. Dickens Faire really been taking all my time and energy. With the year coming to a close Im happy to say Im taking commitions for the new year. Frankies princess dress was completed late last night. It looks amazing and I cant wait to get her into it and take pics for you all to see. Ophelia's Maid skirt was also completed. I just need to put her in it so that i can place the hook and eyes.

Hell Week- Its the home stretch. We are less then week away the opening of Dickens. Only a couple more project to get finished. Rest is needed today but will be in hitting the sewing hard tomorrow

Frankies skirt and most of her bodice will be done tomorrow and finished up on Friday.
