Simple snacks such as hard-boiled eggs, string cheese, or air-popped popcorn are all fast and portable. If you want to get a little more creative, you can try these snack ideas: Heat frozen edamame. They have a mild flavor that kids love, and they’re fun to pop out of their shells. Top whole grain crackers with low-sodium sliced turkey. Low-fat refried beans make a great protein-packed dip. Top with salsa or pico... de gallo and enjoy with veggie sticks and baked tortilla chips. Top half a whole wheat English muffin with spaghetti sauce, chopped vegetables, and low-fat shredded mozzarella and melt in the microwave. Wrap sliced, low-sodium deli turkey around an apple wedge for a snack that’s lean and full of protein. See more
