Planning a fishing trip to Los Vaqueros Reservoir this weekend? Please note that beginning tomorrow (Feb. 1) daily fishing access fees are $6. We planted 6,000 pounds of trout this month. Happy fishing!

Heads up to anyone planning a visit to the Marina in the near future. We're making repairs to the road. You can still access the Marina, but expect minor delays weekdays between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Challenge yourself this holiday season on our final naturalist program of the year. The Upper Watershed Hike will take you into the hills above Los Vaqueros Reservoir and explore the natural and cultural worlds of the watershed. The hike is about three miles with moderate hills. This hike is from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Sunday, December 10. Meet at the County Line Staging Entrance (near the entry Kiosk on Los Vaqueros Road). ccwater.com/activities

Is your son or daughter interested in learning how to fish? Our popular trout clinic for kids has spaces available! The clinic is from 8 to 11:30 a.m. this Saturday, December 9 at the LV Marina. Children ages 5 to 10 years can attend this free class to learn the basics of trout fishing at a lake. Reservations are required, so call 925-688-8010 today! www.ccwater.com/activities

Need to get outside after this week's storms? Take an easy early winter nature hike with us along Kellogg Creek tomorrow morning (Saturday, Nov 18). Our Naturalist will lead us through this slice of the watershed and point out the seasonal changes that are occurring all around! The hike is from 10 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Nov. 18 and meets at the John Muir Interpretive Center (19 Walnut Boulevard, Brentwood) www.ccwater.com/activities

Join NASA Education Ambassador and local teacher Jeff Adkins for the Leonids Meteor Shower from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, November 17 at Kellogg Creek Picnic Area.
