We are delighted to announce that Luminario Ballet's first dance film, "L'Invalide", will be available for viewing online on our website movie page, on Monday, May 3rd! This 11 1/2 minute short film is choreographed and directed by Judith FLEX Helle, artistic director of Luminario Ballet, and stars Shannon Beach, Alexander Stabler, Jasmine Perry, Miguel Reyes Santiago, and Sadie Black. I had a dream I was hanging on my trapeze at Berlin’s Metropol last night for the usual crowd, you know, about 5,000-6,000 crazy Berliners. In a tiny gold bikini. . . . But this is from 1983 or 1984. That wasn’t a dream, but a great show. With the Berliner band Flucht Nach Vorn, which means Fly Ahead. Yes, that would be me, always flying ahead. Lil review of the past year and a bit. Luminario Ballet’s director Judith got back up on the aerial rig for the first time in 11 years. Luminario went to APAP last January in NYC, the world was still open, and showcased at Ailey. Listen to My Heart. Who knew what that would mean for us in 2020! And we had Dreya Weber guest starring with us... then good God we trotted off to India on behalf of the US State Department, US Cultural Ambassadors. Prior to that we did a gorgeous... couole of Lewitzky pieces at Skirball, and also at our home space, Faisdodo. Plus Firebird. Wow, we used to be busy! Meanwhile, in LA covid lockdown, we share distanced love with each other and are grateful to have had the privilege of performing for everyone. We yearn to share live performance with everyone again!
