Unlike the stock market, which gives us feedback every 10 seconds or so, real estate markets - and therefore the reporting data - move at a much slower pace. We currently have data through the end of February. As we progressed through February, the actual and expected impacts of COVID-19 continued to grow, with concerns of economic impact reaching the stock market in the last week of the month. As ...the stock market declined, so did mortgage rates, offering a bad news-good news situation. While short term declines in the stock market can sting, borrowers who lock in today’s low rates will benefit significantly in the long term. LOCAL TRENDS New Listings were down 6.0 percent for detached homes and 1.1 percent for attached properties. Pending Sales decreased 42.0 percent for detached homes and 39.1 percent for attached properties. The Median Sales Price was up 11.2 percent to $895,000 for detached homes and 6.0 percent to $530,000 for attached properties. Months Supply of Inventory decreased 28.6 percent for detached units and 28.1 percent for attached units.
