Repost @travelinglightmachine Every moment we are offered a choice The first choice that is made is through the nervous system, as our neuroception receives and filters information that we perceive from the world around us. ... If our nervous system deems the moment unsafe, then the cascade of hormones and physiological changes begin to occur. We look to those around us for cues. Even neutral expressions can become charged and threatening. Defensive walls of protection arise, closing us off from perceiving too much from the outer world. Anxiety and irritation may show up. Coming home to your personal equilibrium takes dedication. When our choices are limited, we can’t see the whole epic space of possibility that each moment holds. We are incredibly resilient humans, and part of this is by stabilizing our perceptive reality. We get into a groove. When an armored or despondent pattern stabilizes, we process our reality from this space - and division and stagnation reign. It’s a war to prove our reality, to ourselves and the world around us. From here we can totally collapse into disassociation or depression, or we can kick into a false window of tolerance as we try to action our way through life, exhausting our reserves and rocking our ships, often leaning on substances to keep us afloat. Our longevity, our thriving, our manifestation, our creation of life is influenced by the way we step into action in our lives to show up in a way that embodies our principles and beliefs. It is also flourishes through honoring the rhythm of life, which includes the process of letting it all go. Layers of exhaustion, tension, worry, grief, and other dis-ease begin to wash away when we give ourselves the gifts of integration time, relaxation time and deep recalibration with such tools at the Lucia light, breathwork, float tanks and so on. Recalibrating in an environment that is your own special type of safe and relaxing makes all the juicier.
