Sunday Night Bedtime Story with the Burts - "I am the Storm" by Jane Yolen and Heidi E.Y Stemple art by Kristen and Kevin Howdeshell
Today is International SEL Day! Social and emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which children and adults understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions. At LUCHA, we use the Kimochis program to help teach our students these important SEL skills. This program uses feelings plushies and a variety of characters to teach students how to use ...communication keys that help them manage their feelings and work well with others. To celebrate #SELday we asked our LUCHA leaders why #SELmatters to them. Take a look at a few of their awesome responses!

Woohoo! This week’s Imagine Learning battle was epic with a tie for 2nd place (between our two kindergarten classes who both had 90% of their class reaching their goals) and a tie for 1st place! Mrs. McCray’s 2nd graders continue to dominate with their third win and joining them this week also with 100% of students meeting their goals was Ms. Estrada’s 4th/5th graders! Keep up the hard work, LUCHA leaders!
LUCHA is now accepting registration for the 2021-2022 school year. Please share our posts this week about our school with anyone that might be interested in becoming a part of our wonderful school community!
