The ten federal executions carried out this year already exceed all those carried out in the previous 56 years combined in the United States. Let that sink in... Abolish the death penalty!

Traffic stops for minor infractions are by far, the most common interaction our clients have with police. It's a practice imbued with bias & racism within Black & Brown communities. As #PublicDefenders, our calling is to hold the system accountable by shedding light on police misconduct. Our Law Enforcement Accountability Unit brings greater transparency and gives us a powerful tool to stand with our family's call to pursue justice and reforms. https://www.latimes.com//racial-disparities-in-lapd-stops-
4,998 people died in U.S. Jails before their case went to trial. The toll of jail inmates who die without a case resolution subverts the fundamental constitutional right of the U.S. criminal justice system: innocent until proven guilty. To reduce our local jail population, our office will continue to fight for all of our client's rights to due process and against cruel and unusual pretrial punishment. #publicdefender #criminalattorney #defense #criminaldefense #communityhealing #criminaljusticereform #lawreform
Happy #NationalParalegalDay! We want to thank our dedicated paralegals for all the hard work they do on each and every case, conducting research, drafting important documents, and support our attorneys. Our paralegals play a crucial role in achieving our team's results. Today we celebrate YOU! https://nationaltoday.com/national-paralegal-day/

Taking away the fundamental right to vote is one example of how mass incarceration is designed to perpetuate racial inequities. Restoring parolees’ voting rights will give them not only a chance at redemption, but also add their valued voice back to our communities. - Ricardo D. Our team can now refer our clients on probation or parole to East Los Angeles College’s College, and Career Addiction Studies Program called Formerly or Currently Incarcerated Students (FOCIS). These students can earn a Prevention Specialist Certificate and secure employment in the field as Addiction Counselors. This program gives our clients a chance to earn an education that will allow them to join the workforce! The wonderful fact about working in the field of addiction treatment is that one’s background will not affect their ability to secure employment!
Our team, working w/ @bailproject, has scored releases for people who would have otherwise remained in custody! The expansion of the use of certified law clerks in our department has been a great benefit to clients and staff.
