Two weeks ago, Long Beach Search and Rescue’s Board Chairman, B. Mccall swore in 43 members for our upcoming 2019 Basic Recruit Academy. These recruits successfully passed the selection process. We are excited to have Basic Rescue Recruit Class 2019 start training next Tuesday!
Our recruitment night is just a couple months away. On October 8, 2019 the Unit will conduct its annual orientation meeting and distribute applications for membership. This orientation meeting is only held once a year. Interested young adults should attend with their parents for this one hour meeting. Please refer to this flyer for requirements to apply.

Long Beach Search & Rescue is saddened to announce the death of another one of our advisors, Robert (Bob) Kistner, after his very short battle with cancer. Bob served LBS&R for the past 48 years. Bob was a familiar face that you'd see on Tuesday nights out at rescue. He provided us all with mentorship, training, guidance, friendship, and much more. You will be missed my friend. Please share any photos or memories of Bob Kistner below. A Celebration of Life will be planned.
Congrats to former LBSR member Dave Durham on his promotion to Battalion Chief! https://m.facebook.com//photos/a.38127/10156873239483470/
