Visual Artists Guild SECOND CALL FOR ARTISTS ART & DEMOCRACY VI 2019 WHAT: Visual Artists Guild has been invited to a second round of evaluation to submit our artists' works for the venue in West Hollywood. All artists, regardless of residence location are welcomed.... Art & Democracy VI is the sixth art exhibition with the theme of art and democracy. The Visual Artists Guild welcomes artworks that address issues concerning: human rights, democratic aspirations, social justice, immigrant rights, speech and religious freedom, global climate change, and civil liberties for our ART & DEMOCRACY VI exhibit to be held this year in 2019. WHY: The Art Exhibition hopes to keep alive the dialogue of Freedom and Democracy and to highlight the 30th Anniversary of the 1989 Tiananmen Massacre and the fall of the Berlin Wall and the collapse of Eastern Europe. With this exhibit, Visual Artists Guild hopes to create a space for the world to celebrate human rights, freedom of expression and democracy. Special events include live entertainment, panel discussions, artists meet and greets, etc. HOW: Since this is a second call for artists, if you have already submitted an art work earlier, you may submit additional art works if you wish. Interested artists are invited to submit artwork by sending images in the form of .jpgs, web links or .pdf documents. Interested artists are required to submit a bio, resume or links to a portfolio. All media will be considered. Please email all items to [email protected] Deadline: All items (images, description, bio, resume, portfolio) must reach the committee no later than Saturday February 16, 2019. All artwork sent for consideration must be work that represents the exhibit theme of ART & DEMOCRACY. Considerations are especially for art works done within the last 5 years. Please include a brief description of the artwork, along with medium and dimensions. REMINDER CALL FOR ARTISTS Social Dictates - Visual Arts for Change... We are seeking artwork for an exhibit that starts in May and runs through June. The artwork should explore what could have been with regard to our political reality. We are also seeking artwork that represents the future expectations of this reality. The theme is either/or and is not meant to be explored in one artwork. The ideal is a juxtaposition of various pieces of differing extremes or perspectives within the exhibit. We are not seeking a juxtaposition in one piece. However, ultimately, that is up to you! We are seeking international participants as well, as US politics definitely impacts other nations and people abroad. We especially look forward to such submissions! Submission Deadline - 05.03.2017 Please email submissions as jpegs with a short bio - [email protected] https://www.facebook.com/LongBeachArts/

The Sacred Geometry art show was awesome! It was great seeing you guys who came out. I appreciate the support. Thank you Anita Sinclair and Cassandra Vitale for... letting me hang some work! The first four images are of my work printed on aluminum, followed by some other work that was there. Everything will be hanging there until mid May. Go check it out. It's in Long Beach. If anyone is interested in prints, let me know! See more
