President Nelsen shared the following message today with the campus community: Every Commencement we pause to celebrate our veterans who are graduating and the ...veterans in the stands. It is a moving and humbling moment. Campus will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 11, in observance of our veterans. I hope you will join me in recognizing and honoring the members of our Hornet Family and all of those who have served and sacrificed for our country. The day is especially poignant this year as we just witnessed a historic election where more than 146 million Americans exercised their civil right to vote. Fair and free elections are the heart of our democracy, and those who served and are currently serving help ensure that these freedoms are protected. I am grateful for your service, and I hope you enjoy a peaceful Veterans Day. Stingers Up!

Free flu shots are Sac State’s latest push to keep the Hornet Family safe. President Nelsen and his wife, Jody, helped lead the way at the Oct. 8 clinic, joinin...g students, faculty, and staff to get vaccinations administered by School of Nursing students in the University Union. More clinics are scheduled this month and in November, with the University hoping to dispense up to 7,000 doses of vaccine to students and employees. The next clinics are 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Oct. 20, 21, 22, 27, 28, and 29, with November dates to be announced.
