"When I was born I was healthy, and hardly got sick. Well, a little after I turned one I had fevers that would frequently come and go and I would limp and bruise very easily. My mom finally decided to take me to the hospital after a persistent fever and the limping and bruising got worse, we were directed to Valley Children's Hospital where they ran labs on me. When the results came in they told my parents the words that parents never want to hear, their 1-year-old daughter i...s now diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. I was treated for 6 months and underwent chemotherapy, biopsies and so many other procedures. I am lucky to say that I am a survivor and being a survivor has helped me realize that I want to help people and give back to the community. I am so grateful for organizations like LLS who help fight against blood cancers and offer support to patients. Starlet, AML survivor We Light The Night for SURVIVORS like Starlet! Thank you to all who joined us on Saturday for our first ever Virtual Light the Night walk and celebration!
