HAPPY NEW YEAR! Barrel of the Month is Petit Verdot 2018 from Romeo vineyard, Calistoga in Napa Valley. A muscular wine with a strong tannic back-bone but also showing a feminine side with aromas of dried perfumed red roses, leather and spice with fruits of cranberries & prunes.
Hope you find a growler-fill of wine under the tree tomorrow! OPEN 2-6pm today Closed Christmas Day

3 *** NEW RELEASES *** 2018 vintage Red wines for the cooler season - Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon & Petit Verdot.
Our pup, Milo decided to harvest the bunch of Cabernet grapes on the patio tonight! ( Way too acidic to eat)
Focus on the wines
Harvests are in but we have one bunch of very late-ripening Cabernet Sauvignon on our patio.
Graceful & elegant. Fermented for 8 months in French oakbarrels. Fresh & alive with apple & pineapple on the nose. Pretty peach & apricot onthe palate. Rich texture, finishing with pleasant acidity. Tempting?
Winemaking team 2020. Thanks for the help folks! Our Bird Rock Alley barrel of Malbec will be ready 12 months from now.
Winemaking 2020 Pressing our Malbec
Punching down the Malbec grapes. Fermentation nearing completion and we are preparing to press the wine this weekend.
A traditional South African favorite Mosbolletjies made by Chase, one of our Wine Associates. A sweet brioche made during winemaking season with fermenting grape juice ( must/mos) which acts as the rising agent and it is flavored with aniseed. We used our fermenting Malbec which imparts the red color. Delicious!
NEW RELEASE. ONLY ONE BARREL MADE Bird Rock Merlot 2019 made in our alley from grapes grown in Dry Creek, Sonoma with community help. Full-bodied and plush on the palate. Flavors of blueberries and violets notes on the nose are rounded out with a touch of sweet vanilla spice.
2020 Winemaking operation - unlike any other year we have known!
Today we de-stemmed a ton of Malbec to make our 2020 Bird Rock wine. It’s organic and biodynamically cultivated on a ranch in Fallbrook.
Empty barrels going back to Napa. This represents 3500 single-use bottles not utilized or sent to waste. ReTHINK ReDUCE ReFILL
