December 17, 1903 aviation history was made by the Wright brothers. In Kitty Hawk, North Carolina Orville and Wilbur made four attempts in a gasoline powered, propeller-driven biplane. The longest flight lasted 59 seconds and flew a total of 852 feet. Same day, thirty-two years later the Douglas DC-3 debuts with a cruising speed of 207 mph with the capacity of carrying up to 32 passengers or 6,000 lbs of cargo and a range of 1,500 miles, making worldwide flight possible.
