Help us welcome Ms. Karla Rodas, M.A., AMFT CA # 119696 Karla obtained her Masters degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Southern California. She is currently pursuing her Doctorates degree in Clinical Psychology at Pepperdine University. By recognizing her intersecting identities and narrative as a Hispanic/Latinx woman, Karla has gained insight on how to integrate cultural sensitivity into her work. She puts this insight into practice by learning how ...to be proactive in adopting the skills needed to work with a diverse clientele. One of these skills is utilizing her linguistic capacity to reduce language barriers by providing services in both Spanish and English. Her past experience in the field included working in community mental-health with children, teens, and adults in the following modalities: individual, family, and group. Majority of her work was focused on assisting clients with adjustment issues, self-esteem, grief/loss, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. When working with clients Karla values meeting a client where they are in their journey, as for some this may be their first time in therapy. The foundation of her work is dedicated to creating a safe space and trusting relationship where each client feels heard/understood. She approaches her work through a person-centered lens in which every person is seen as a unique individual with their own set of experiences. Therefore, therapy is always tailored to fit the specific needs/goals of each individual client. In order to best assist clients with their needs/goals she integrates multicultural, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, humanistic, and systems-theory based approaches in sessions. All in all, Karla believes that with therapy clients can uncover their full potential by utilizing the tools they have within themselves to heal the invisible wounds they carry. See more

We are so excited to invite Ms. Rebecca Lyons to serve clients at our clinic. Rebecca holds a B.A. degree in Psychology from Chapman University and an M.A. degree in Psychology with a dual concentration in MFT and PCC from Brandman University, part of the Chapman University system. Rebecca has worked with a variety of individuals for a variety of reasons, some including, trauma, depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria, interpersonal, relationship or family challenges and other... conditions perpetuating undesired behaviors and/or cognitions. Her belief is that everyone has individual needs that require individualized treatment, incorporating the whole of the individual; mind, body and spirit. This falls in line with the Gestalt principle, where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Along with this core belief, she has a Rogerian approach with all clients where each and every individual is accepted with unconditional positive regard. With this core belief and approach, Rebecca pulls from a variety of therapeutic modalities, depending on the clients’ needs. The therapeutic treatments and techniques she pulls from fall within Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Experiential Theory, Object Relations Theory, Attachment Theory, Emotional Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Her clients receive treatment from these modalities that are specifically tailored to their needs. No matter the situation or condition, her objective, as the Therapist, is to join the client on their journey, helping them feel better, appreciate who they are and understand they are worthy of the best that life has to offer.
