Time for some reality check!! This is so FUCKING SAD. That Facetune is currently the top selling app on the American iOS App Store and was the Top Paid App of 2017 & 2018 (and most likely 2019)?! Like WTF?!?! Are we so dissatisfied with our faces, and have so low self-esteem, that we literally need to make every selfie looking something like a mix of a 10-year old human and a cartoon figure? Or because most of your friends or people you follow use it, and you feel the need ...to do the same? Whitening our teeth, fixing frizzy hair, perfect blemish-free skin, no wrinkles, lengthen our eyelashes, even reshaping our bodies Princess Snow White would probably be a good description in what we are getting turned into. This is a digital drug and we have become HEAVILY addicted. It’s the plastic surgery of photo editing apps. And talking about plastic surgery: That there’s even people out there, that first off has made tons of real plastic surgery, then putting on 3 lbs of makeup on and for the cherry on the top, they use Facetune (or similar apps). Where does this end?! What world do we live in?! For real?? Some of these people are today’s Role Models for the younger generation. Makes my whole body cringe. I’m curious: Are you using an app like this? If so, have you asked yourself: Why do you use it and for what purpose? (Be brutally honest with yourself) How can you change that without using an app?
