This GodHis way is perfect; the Word of the Lord proves true; He is a shield for all those who take refuge in Him. (Psalm 18:30) The more that we learn about God, the more love that we will have for Him. As humans, the idea of moral or spiritual perfection is beyond our scope of understanding. From the time that a child is born, their sin nature becomes readily apparent. We don’t have to try to prove to anyone that they are sinful. Most of us are willing to acknowle...dge our sins. Rather, sin is so prevalent among humans that we often try to compare ourselves with others or excuse our sins by thinking that our sins are not so bad. So, when we come across a verse like this one where it speaks of the way of God being perfect, it is hard for us to realize that God truly is morally and spiritually perfect. There is no flaw in Him. God does not need the redemption that humans are in desperate need of. God’s perfection comes through in His Word. This is why it is so important for every true Christian to spend time each and every day reading God’s Word (the Bible). The Word of God always proves itself to be true. It is by reading God’s Word that we receive instruction and guidance in our day-to-day living. By reading God’s Word we also discover that God uses His Word as a shield of protection for us. When we put into practice the principles that we discover in His Word, we will find that God is protecting us and we can find refuge and safety in God. The most wonderful thing about God is that He promises to always lead and guide us. He has promised to be with us no matter where we are and no matter what we are doing. This is exactly why when a true believer finds himself or herself falling into sin, he or she finds a much greater sense of guilt than a non-Christian. God’s Holy Spirit is seeking to lead us into the way of perfection that is the way of God. We will never fully achieve this perfection in this world, but we will in the world to come. So let us spend time each day getting to know God better as we look forward to spending eternity with Him and with all of the heavenly hosts and with all of the other true believers throughout all time! Enoch walked with God, and he was not, for God took him. (Genesis 5:24) Where did I come from? What is my purpose here on this earth? What happens to me after I die? These are three basic questions that all humans have if they are honest. Most of us would do anything to hang on to our life. According to Worldometers, the current worldwide life expectancy is 73.2 years old. Worldwide, women have a life expectancy of 75.6 while men have a life expectancy of 70.8. In...Continue reading

No wisdom, no understanding, no knowledge can avail against the Lord. (Proverbs 21:30) All of us have been given a certain degree of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge, but whatever level of wisdom, understanding, and knowledge that we have is merely a drop in the bucket compared to the wisdom, understanding, and knowledge of God. This is why it is so very absurd when any human starts questioning God. When a challenging situation comes into our life: the betrayal by a f...Continue reading

Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him! (Psalm 34:8) David wrote this psalm when he was pretending to be insane. He had fled from King Saul and was in great fear for his life. David felt that life was closing in all around him and he had no safe place to go. So, he pretended to be insane. But God used this very incident to show David some great truths which he passed on to us when he wrote this psalm. David learned that the... safest place that anyone can find is directly in the presence of God. David was delivered from all of his enemies and he had many at this point in his life. But the greatest takeaway that David received was that the best safety net is God Himself. We can take all of the precautions to keep ourselves and our families safe and still suffer great harm. On the other hand, we can live through an extremely dangerous and potentially harmful situation and come out of it completely unharmed. When God promises to watch over His children, He is not merely giving us positive platitudesGod means what He says! But quite often, we are placed into a place where we have to trust God. We are faced with a difficult set of circumstances and we can see no way out. We can either use all of our human wisdom and strength or we can fall at the feet of God and cry out for His help. David experienced time and time again just how faithful God is and so can we. But all too often, we miss out on the blessings that God has in store for us because we are not willing to taste and see that the Lord is good. Each day is a new beginning and so let us use the opportunity that today brings to truly trust the Lord. Let us commit to allowing Him to fully lead and direct our lives. When we do that, we will also experience the blessings that come to us as a result of trusting God to lead us!
