Littlerock High School "Agricultural & Environmental Science Academy" Needs Some Help! Last year we received approval and the budget for a 30' x 60' California Teaching Greenhouse Package (see photo) Manufactured by the International Green House Company. They (IGC) are ready to process the transaction and ship the kit when we are ready. Problem: The State of California requires that an architect oversee the project from start to finish and that the architect be well versed i...n Earthquake safety compliance set forth for any State educational facility built in the State of California. So far the bids submitted to the district have been in the excess of $ 50,000.00 which is way more than the Kit cost and we just do not have it! We need help! We either need to find an architect who can come in at a much lower price or better yet pro bono! Or alternatively a sponsor who can help with the cost of hiring and architect for this project. In return I'm sure that we can get approval to name the building after it's supporters. The project installation will be at: Littlerock High School 10833 E. Hey Antelope Valley Listen Up! Here is a call for local Artist, Welders, Electricians, Carpenters etc. I find this very interesting because Did you know that the Antelope Valley High School District wants to Eliminate the Agricultural Mechanics Department? In fact they are already closing down the department at Palmdale High School which only leaves Littlerock High School as the last to offer the course.... This is where they not only teach heavy equipment maintenance but they teach things Like WELDING, Plumbing, Wood Working, Carpentry, Masonry and Electrical Trades! What happens when all we teach in the AV is academics and computer science for the aerospace industry and nobody knows how to put the stuff together or even better yet maintain it? What happens when we stop teaching folks how to grow food here in the Antelope Valley and maintain a farm? What happens when all of a sudden there is a shortage of Metal workers, plumbers, masons, carpenters and electricians? These trades are all an art and art needs art and art needs to be taught!!
