We would like to thank you all for your patience and collaboration as we work to provide the necessary resources to our students. As you all may know, the information from the State and County in regards to COVID-19 orders change frequently. This pandemic has forced us all to do things differently and to find innovative solutions to conduct our daily business. While we enter into our normally scheduled summer break, communication from the district may appear less frequent. However, we want to assure our families that we are working diligently to plan for the next school year. With so much uncertainty, staff is having to plan for multiple scenarios for the 2020-21 school year knowing that the orders set by the State and Public Health will dictate how we are able to operate. Hemet Unified is working on several safety protocols for staff and students' return. We understand that feelings of returning differ among our staff and students. While some may be willing to return to a normal classroom setting, some may feel a sense of unease. We are all living through unusual circumstances and HUSD is working to accommodate the needs of all. We understand that each family’s situation is different and are therefore asking you to complete the survey below to identify which learning environment best suits your child. The information families provide through this survey, as well as orders from State and Public Health, will help guide us in our plans for the upcoming school year. The survey will close on Tuesday, June 2nd at 5:30 p.m. Please be assured that as more guidance from the State and Public Health becomes available and we have more information about what next year will look like we will notify all families. https://littlelake.hemetusd.org/apps/pages/index.jsp If your child is not returning to Little Lake for the 2020-2021 school year due to moving or promoting, we are asking you to please return non-consumable textbooks, musical instruments, and library books and classroom library books. (If your child IS returning to Little Lake, we ask you to please hold on to materials until school resumes.)... Material Return: -When: The week of May 26-29 from 9:00am -12:00pm. -How: Boxes will be placed in front of the school office to drop off your child’s materials. Return non-consumable textbooks, leveled readers, library books, musical instruments 1. Place books in a tied plastic bag with the student's first and last name, grade level and teacher name, on the outside of the bag. 2. Wear gloves and mask/face covering, and social distance - wait until no one is at the box to place your returned items inside. If waiting, stand at least 6 ft. from another person. 3. Place the labeled bag in the box outside of the school’s front office windows. 4. If you have an instrument you are returning, tape a paper with your child’s first and last name, grade level and classroom teacher’s name on it, and place it in the instrument box. 5. The office will not be open. The box is to retrieve instructional materials only.
