San Luis Coastal Unified School District is providing a FREE Parent Education Program: "The Adult School is excited to start new online parenting classes next week! With Parent Participation closed, we surveyed our parents to see what they would like to see offered this fall. Here's what we came up with. It's a small but mighty offering. The one class not listed on the flyer is Parenting Sober, an ongoing twice monthly class. We are happy to see that parents have responded an...d are signing up. There are 38 signed up for the Young Toddler class!" I *highly* recommend Parent Participation! I joined the classes with both my children and made some of my best friends there. There is nothing like being around other people who are at the same stage of life and parenting. Especially with the isolation of COVID right now, parents need all the support they can get. Please consider looking into these classes.

The format of Little Ducklings (located in SLO) is changing. Starting August 24, Little Ducklings will take on just a few families with two or three children each in grades PK, K, 1, 2 or 3. We will form our own pod and commit to keeping each other safe by limiting contact with others. As an experienced and credentialed elementary school teacher who also has a license for child care, I am in a unique position to assist families with elementary school kids who need supervi...sion and help with distance learning while their parents are at work. These children must be old enough to: Manage their own toileting; understand the importance of social distancing; work fairly independently; wear a mask while inside; and will be from just a few families, thus limiting everyone's exposure to germs. No one knows yet when it will be safe for schools to return to in-classroom learning full-time. I suspect it will not be until most people have been immunized for coronavirus. I am planning to assist elementary students with distance learning throughout the 2020/2021 school year. Next spring I will reassess and decide what ages Little Ducklings will serve at that time.
