A Facebook friend of mine posted this pic. The crazy thing is looking at the percentage of average income to House / Car. In this case a house would be about 2.5 x income. Also the car is 36% of income. Could you do that today? Would you be happy in a home that is 2.5 x your household income and drive a car that is 36% of your household income?

DID YOU KNOW? It may be the last chance you get to sell a home and avoid taxes! Both the House and Senate proposals would change the "two of five" rule to "five of eight" and would limit the use of the exclusion to one sale every five years (instead of one sale every two years). Under current law, you can exclude up to $250,000 ($500,000 for married taxpayers) in capital gains from the sale of your home so long as you have owned and resided in the house for at ...least two of the last five years. What that means is that if you you have an investment property - your ability to sell and avoid tax on the gain could be gone. Message me if you have questions - cause just got real.
