Also the car is 36% of income. Could you do that today? Would you be happy in a home that is 2.5 x your household income and drive a car that is 36% of your household income?

Both the House and Senate proposals would change the "two of five" rule to "five of eight" and would limit the use of the exclusion to one sale every five years (instead of one sale every two years).
