Posted @withregram @urgent_pets Instagram #Repost Saving Riverside Shelter Dogs] with @withregram Instagram ... Guinness was still alive at 4:30 PM today 9/25/21. He was removed from pet harbor shortly after. We are not sure his outcome, but we need everyone to share him as we are hoping he is still alive! The rescue desk is closed on Saturdays so there would have been no way for shelter staff & partner rescues to confirm rescue. We are hoping he is still available! Please share him everywhere! PetHarbor has Guinness listed as a female, but when we met this dog, he was in fact male. CONFIRMED: CAN BE EUTHANIZED AS EARLY AS 9/25/21. We know the rescue community can come together & make this happen. We’re the dogs last hope Rescues if you have additional questions about a dog’s behavior or medical, please do not message this page asking - you need to email (prefer) or call the shelter rescue desk immediately as they will have the most UTD info! Adopters, PLEASE DO NOT TIE UP THE RESCUE PHONE LINE! Submit an online inquiry or go directly to the shelter between 1-3:30pm (mon-sat) for a meet & greet! If you have questions regarding our interactions with a dog, feel free to message us. LEGEND - #A1979838 7 yrs. old, 70 lb. Male *** MEDICAL ALERT ***... We're head over heels for Legend, and we promise you’ll be too when you meet this incredibly affectionate, gorgeous boy! Legend is a gentle, medium-energy GSD who lives to love. A recent transfer from East Valley Animal Shelter, this boy is highly engaged with people, knows his ‘sit’ and down’ cues, makes lots of eye contact with his soft brown eyes, and leans in so endearingly for pets. When being brushed, Legend is very appreciative and patient, shows zero sensitivity to any parts of his body, and offers up his paw in the cutest way. That, or he lays down and rolls over for belly rubs! In the yard, he has fun chasing balls and taking short dips in the kiddie pool. He also appears to be housebroken based on how hard he tries not to go in his kennel. And he is also crate-trained! Like many dogs, Legend is having a tough time adjusting to shelter life. He was surrendered on May 21 because his owner lost home. Being confined to a kennel most of his days and nights is causing him to spin and bark, which deters potential adopters from even asking to meet this wonderful dog. They have no idea that outside that cage, Legend is a very chill pup who’d be so content with daily walks, a little playtime, just being around his people, and getting lots of TLC. Legend is on medical alert for losing weight. Viewing animals, meet & greets, and adoptions are still by appointment only. If you’re interested in meeting, fostering, or adopting Legend, please call 888-452-7381 or 213-261-1211 and have his ID # handy. LA Animal Services will share all the available information and set up your appointment. (If you are having trouble making an appointment, please DM us. This page is volunteer-run, but we'll do our best to assist you.) Rescue partners please contact our Lifesaving Liaison, Haydee Mancera, at: [email protected] 213-305-4112

RESCUED ON EUTHANASIA LIST! CONFIRMED: OLIVE CAN BE EUTHANIZED ANYTIME WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE! We have already lost a few this week, so we need to rally tog...ether to get these 10 saved! Please share Olive to save her life. If you have additional questions about a dog’s behavior or medical, please do not message this page asking - you need to call the shelter rescue desk immediately as they will have the most UTD info! Please only call if you have a serious inquiry! LAST CALL! If you have questions regarding our interactions with a dog, feel free to message us. Meet: Olive. #A1637261. When Olive was first taken out of her kennel, she was very, very shy. She pancaked onto the ground, & did not want to walk on a leash. Eventually we were able to get Olive outside onto the grass. She continued to move very slowly & was having a difficult time trusting us. Out of nowhere, Olive jumped up onto the bench I was sitting on & kissed my face. Everyone was shocked. Then Olive proped her 60+ body into my lap. See comments for videos. In that moment so was her safe space & it melted my heart. I refuse to fail Olive. She’s counting on me (is) to take a chance on her. Please share her everywhere. Olive is currently kenneled with another very scared dog. I am a female, 65.00 lbs, black and tan German Shepherd Dog. I am estimated to be about 3 years old. Foster FOUND, thank you!! : this pup was rescued from a homeless person who spray painted him and was selling him as a bait dog in Bakersfield. A kind person... was able to get the pup and clean off most of the paint. She cannot keep him and asked if we can take the little guy! We need a dedicated foster in order to take him. If you are able to provide a temporary home to this sweet baby, please visit our website www.sparkrescue.org and submit a foster application. Thank you See more

SHEBA NEEDS HELP - AND NOW!! Day after day the heat was relentless, sometimes over 106 degrees, and the only shade Sheba had was from what the pipes provided pa...rt of the day. Sheba had survived for almost 6 weeks. She was being fed, but she seemed to be getting weaker, and she wobbled when she walked. She still would get up if an infrequent person passed by to shyly greet them. The local animal shelters are full because so many people are moving away and leaving their dogs behind. All shelters are in crisis mode, and animal rescues are in crisis, as we are! There is no way to keep up with the number of dogs in need. All we knew is that no matter our situation and our resources, we had to help the best we could. Now we realize Sheba is pregnant and there isn’t much more time, so she needs to be rescued. Tomorrow is the day, and she will be transported to a private facility to get the care she needs and a safe place to have her puppies. Please help us save Sheba and her unborn puppies! We are doing the best we can, but times are difficult, so any help will be appreciated! MY NAME IS JAKE! My former owner lost his home, and he was very distressed when I ended up at Westside German Shepherd Rescue. However, WGSR’s staff realized... the situation wasn’t safe for me and took me in! I am a 6-7 month old Beagle and a sweet love bug. The volunteers love my ears and say they feel like silk! True to my hound nature though, I love to talk, so no apartments for me. Westside is hoping to find me a Beagle experienced owner to provide my forever home. Can you tell your friends about me? Or, even better, if you are interested in adopting me, make sure to fill out an application on Westside’s website, www.sheprescue.org! Thank you so much, Jake See more
