Do it now so you can enjoy the rest of your life not having to wear glasses anymore. The mono focal lens is usually covered under your insurance, but if you're 40-50 years old go for the trifocal lens, your eyesight will be like new again. It's amazing how vivid colors are and the sharpness too! Technology for this procedure is so advanced now, it'll put optometrists out of business, which is probably why they tell you to wait till you're 60 something. My optometrist found a thinning of my eye nerves that can possibility lead to glaucoma in the future. So, she recommended me to go see Linda Vision. Unlike most places, this practice was fully staffed with at least 10 employees and 3 doctors. All the equipment are up to date and you just know you're dealing with a practice that is serious in making... sure all of your eye comprehensive care are met with the latest technology on the market. The parking lot is located in the back and the building was huge. The practice was quite busy with a lot of ppl waiting. I thought I was going to be there for awhile. But the staff did a phenomenal job in getting ppl in and out of the door quick. The staff all knew what they were doing. I went to see Dr Brenda Nuyen and was so impressed with her professionalism and charima. She was very patient and detailed in explaining the eye exam. I was pretty nervous about the surgery itself but everyone was very helpful and reassuring. Sheena, the patient counselor, was awesome and took a lot of time to answer all of my questions. She was very thorough in explaining the pre and post LASIK care and the various eye drops I needed to use. Sh...e even called the day before the surgery to remind me to use the eye drops! Dr. Vu is awesome, very approachable and patient. She runs a busy practice but she always takes the time to address my concerns. During the surgery itself, everything went very smoothly. I had some issues with dry eyes after LASIK (very common) but she gave me great tips on how to treat it. Office staff members are very capable and friendly. I've never had to wait long to be seen. She made herself 24/7 on call for us after the surgery. My husband was required to have many post surgery follow ups and Dr. Nuyen made that super easy for us. She always accommodated our schedule since we were carrying a newborn around at that time. My optometrist told me to go right away because he suspected bleeding and a possible retinal detachment. After much frustration at trying to find an ophthalmologist in Whittier (that also takes my lame insurance and could give me an appointment within an acceptable time frame), I was referred to LindaVision by a co-worker. The exam was detailed and conducted very thoroughly, especially in comparison with my past eye exams. Dr. Soo Hoo was very knowledgeable and did a great job of answering all of my questions. Overall she was very professional. Even though I live near Santa Monica, the drive over to her office was well worth it for the high level of care.
