SOLD !!! What a year. What a final week. And now, what a first week. Three families closed escrow this past week, that I was honored to help accomplish their real estate objectives before the end of 2020. Despite everything" being shut down, dedicated lenders, appraisers, escrow officers, inspectors, and real estate agents worked together, right through the holidays to make it happen. Real Estate reflects Life, the economy, and politics. Three closings, six families, ...I represented two seller side one buyer side. Of those leaving the area, two are going to Texas and Florida. Of those coming into the area one was fleeing San Francisco. 4 of the 6 principals are first responders. Two sides are catering or hospitality professionals. All are responding to historically low interest rates, and the pandemic’s affects on their lives, and the cost of living, and taxes. One was a home we sold without ever going on MLS because the owners’ lives were too busy to have showings (and their dogs were too friendly!). One was a condo purchase for an investor for whom rental income is a paycheck when the hospitality industry is dead. And one was the sale of a lady’s home of almost 20 years, so she could quickly move, to Arizona, to nurse her Mother instead letting her go into a nursing home. All important life decisions. Each a very important transaction. All went smoothly. Each buyer and seller family had brighter holidays due to having some certainty. Six families. Perfect endings. Perfect new beginnings. Yet, it is sad, that politics, economics and Covid cause so much disruption. Real estate is considered an essential business, and this illustrates why. For me, it is not just business. It's Life. Is the glass half full, or half empty?
