One of the new paintings that Jim Lee brought into the gallery last week was unique in that we get a sneak peek into a working artist's studio. I enjoy visiting artists studio's or looking at photos of their space, they are all so different and give you an idea of what sparks their creativity. Seeing the Guadalupe that stands on an easel in his space speaks to the diversity of his work. He also uses his space for art restoration and framing which he offers thru the gallery.

It was a pleasant surprise to me when I visited Linda Carter Holman's studio last week and discovered that she is not only a prolific painter but also an accomplished sculptor. Besides selecting the new paintings she was to deliver to the gallery last week I requested that she bring a few of her bronze pieces also. Here are Linda's whimsical sculptures. The original Paintings shown are the newest pieces she has produced in the last couple of months and as usual are full of her imagination and beautiful color.

Exploring geometric shapes in rendering the human form Jim Lee has taken his work into unfamiliar territory. His new work is all about shape, form and color and works very well in it's simplicity. It is exciting to see an artist leave his level of comfort , his landscapes and seascapes ,to try something new. We will be seeing more of Jim's work as he completes new paintings.

Annie Gillespie a versatile artists brought in this beautiful handmade tile table today. Hours of grinding and fitting are evident as you examine the small details of this delightful piece. Appropriately titled " Sunrise Table", the colors and full circle design on the top speaks of sunrise. Annie has also been busy with her beautiful handmade baskets as well as her subtle work with oils on canvas as well as graphite on paper. All of her work is on display in the gallery as well as the website. Visit the gallery soon and take a look at this very talented artists work.
