The Faces of Snakebite. We met this family in Emsos Kenya, four hours northwest of Nairobi, while filming 'Minutes to Die'. Young Jepchirchir and her sister S...cola were bitten in the same bed by a cobra while sleeping. Scola soon died in her mother's arms. Jepchirchir was raced by motorbike to multiple hospitals because antivenom was unavailable. After a lengthy stay in a well-equipped hospital, Jepchirchir returned home. Today she requires 24/7 care. Jepchirchir has a severely deformed hand. She is blind, she cannot walk and is unable to speak. This little girl will most likely never marry. Here, the family pays tribute to Scola, who was laid to rest in the front yard. See more
