Dear friends, It is our regrettable duty to inform you that the Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento has made the difficult decision to postpone our summer 2020 production until the summer of 2021. This decision was not an easy one. As disappointing as this is, the health and safety of our cast, orchestra, production team, and audience must remain our top priority. None of us know when we will be able to assemble again in large groups, or when our rehearsal and performance spaces will reopen. Please continue to watch for e-mail and Facebook notifications. Music Director: Anne-Marie Endres The Light Opera Theatre of Sacramento (LOTS) is thrilled to present a double-bill for our August 2020 production two of Gilbert & Sullivan’s earliest comic operas, TRIAL BY JURY & THE SORCERER. In TRIAL BY JURY, the jilted bride, Angelina, takes her groom to court, charging him with breach of promise of marriage. THE SORCERER is a tale of magic and unforeseen consequences, where a betrothed man solicits the aid of a professional sorcerer in an attempt to share the gift of love with his entire village. ALL ROLES ARE OPEN AND AVAILABLE (The directors may choose to double-cast or understudy some roles). Gilbert, librettist, and Arthur Sullivan, composer. Rehearsals begin in early June. We rehearse Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday evenings, with intermittent Saturday mornings. Non-AEA, Non-AGMA, all-volunteer community theater.
