The truth is, our species as a whole is collectively experiencing a traumatic event, and we have been forced to make uncomfortable adjustments and scary life changes. As we enter the new year with faith and hope, we must first address this significant trauma. When trauma goes unaddressed, it lingers. It can manifest in different parts of the body as chronic pain, muscle tightness, inflammation, digestive issues, depression and so much more! Energetically, the flow of prana becomes blocked or stagnant during a traumatic experience; in turn, the Chakra System, a complex network of energy channels throughout the body, becomes unbalanced. In this workshop, learn how to balance the Chakras to live a happier, healthier and more joyful life. Instructor Bio: Vee is an LA-based AutoImmune Coach who helps those suffering with immune disorders to feel in control of their lives, and live happily. She is the owner and founder of Beach Yoga SoCal in Santa Monica, where she teaches her signature Beach Flow. Her passion for teaching and coaching stems from her own challenges with chronic illness. So much of her healing journey relied on yoga, so she aims to help her students and clients see the magic of this sacred practice. Born and raised in NJ, Vee moved to SoCal in June 2018 with her husband and their three dogs. She received her 200hr certification from the American Yoga Academy in Summit NJ, and will soon be graduating with her 300hr certification from Light on Lotus. Graduation Benefit Class for Safe Place for Youth, taught by our 200Hr teacher trainees Sunday, Dec 20th 2020 1:00 - 2:30PM PST in the Zoom-room... *Donate what you can via venmo to @LOLYoga for the event with a note saying "SPY Benefit" -- all proceeds go to SPY! This virtual class will be taught round-robin style by our 2020 Teacher Trainees as their final graduation offering. Celebrate their hard work & dedication while benefiting a great, local non-profit! Youth experiencing homelessness often have significantly poorer health than the general public. Safe Place for Youth’s partnership with Venice Family Clinic has been critical in meeting the health needs of our youth, providing onsite services during Access Center hours. Bill’s Wellness Clinic, named after the late Councilman Bill Rosendahl, provides health screening, information and referrals, dental clinic, HIV testing, health workshops and Medi-Cal registration. Additionally, our partnerships with LA County Department of Mental Health, Exceptional Children’s Foundation, and pro-bono mental health professionals provides mental health services including counseling, crisis stabilization, mediation, grief and loss support, and anger management.
