HAPPY NEW YEAR For I know the plans I have for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Our 2020 planner was bursting with uplifting events to care for the emotional, mental, and spiritual health of our community while protecting the safety of the physical health we are encouraged, empowered, and excited to step into 2021. Refreshed from the Christmas & holiday season our 2021 planner is filled with hope and faith for a beautiful and safe season lifting spirits and creating magic which is to be revealed this month! Christmastime was a joyous season as the light kept shinning bright on the hill in Oceanside, CA as Lighthouse Players took stage to take care of the emotional, mental, and spiritual health of our community in the safest way to ensure physical health as well! The outdoor matinee was staged socially distanced a Live Radio Play was loved and praised by all in attendance who were also seated distanced with masks remaining on during the latest surge. A few photos from tech rehear...sal are included here to give a maskless memory whereas each indoor rehearsal and the performance artists wore specially made performance masks by Tribe Member Maya Mozon as everyone's livelihood, as the virus began to surround us, was of utmost importance and no health risks could be made. A joyous Tribe came together in beautiful ways unforeseen and a story of hope, purpose, and redemption was cherished while ever fitting for the times. If you have breath you have a purpose is the overall message and to be grateful for our wonderful lives! A Christmas gift from the Tribe was sending Patrons off with a song of love and grace with O, Holy Night. We are tremendously grateful for everyone who poured their hearts into our story to care for our community, to bless and be blessed in return! Thank you, Tribe! Fall 2020 continued last Wednesday with week 8 of our fantastic LP Youth class! We spent a good portion training the students on how to save a scene through funfilled acting activities, how to build stamina in breathing and singing while dancing and engaging through fitness and boxing techniques in addition to cleaning for Showcase. Intermediate students continued a deeper study of their music with vocal/breathing technique, improv, repetition acting skills, in addition to di...ligently working on their Showcase with choreography for the Oompa Loompa songs, polishing their music, and staging all but 2 of their scenes! They are challenged in Voice, Acting, Dance, Improv, Accents and becoming storytellers while socially distanced yet beautifully bonding at the same time! Showcase of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory will be similar to our Drive Up Cabarets and takes place outside come November! Our students are trained to take stage with professional adults from skills to work ethic/etiquette and they are excited to take stage with 4 of our Tribe to ensure adult roles are filled for their Showcase! Saturday’s Broadway Villains Drive Up Cabaret was a fabulous theatrical event filled with monologues and songs to tell the Villains stories! Sprits were lifted as the arts came alive safely which is a blessing as it is what Lighthouse Players’ vision is to be a light in the Arts Community and being there for our community especially when most needed! We are grateful for our production team, performers, and patrons for creating magic together in the great outdoors while being responsible for the safety of one another spreading only kindness. Dress rehearsal was a funfilled peak into how theatrical the villains will be as they take stage telling their stories through both monologue and song.
