Be aware of rental scams when looking online for housing. The most common red flags that we see are the following: 1. An owner that is out of town or out of the area. 2. Misspellings in email communication and poor grammar. Could mean that it's someone from abroad that doesn't speak the native language. 3. They want you to wire the money Western Union, US Postal Service money order or through an escrow service,... We understand that these scams are becoming more common, but you must be aware to protect yourself. When in doubt, call and ask questions! Google the address that you're interested in to double check that a property management company manages it.
