It's National Donor Day!!! It's an incredible joy to give birth to a child and I am honored to have been able to give a kidney to my son when he was 20 years old.....it was just as special as the day he was born!!! Being a LIVE donor is just so easy and cost FREE to the donor! The life you can help restore in someone is absolutely remarkable!!! A stranger donating to another stranger in the U.S. can begin a chain of donations and begin restoring life!!! My daughter donat...ed her spare kidney to our nephew on March 1, 2018 after he was diagnosed with the same disease our son (his cousin) had! Our nephew was 26 years old when he was diagnosed, married, had a new baby boy, and was just a couple of months away from graduating with his Master's degree! After being taken off of work and beginning dialysis he wasn't sure what else would happen. Luckily, our daughter was a great match to him, donated her kidney and he is now living life to the fullest again......great father and husband (and of course son, brother, nephew, grandson, friend...you name it!), working full time and full of gratitude for the gift of life he received!!!! Do you have a 12-18 year old? This is a wonderful FREE event that is PAIN FREE!! Please check out the link for Olivia's Heart Project that will be held at Bakersfield Heart Hospital on October 27th!! You must have your adolescent pre-registered at the website listed below. There are forms that must be printed and filled out and be brought to the health screening. If you don't have a printer please let Liberty Career College know and we will print the forms for you. Health screening involves height, weight, blood pressure, and an EKG (which is pain free)! Doctors will be on site to review the EKG's and advise of any follow up that may be needed! This class is available for students 10 and up! Each attendee is $35 per person. What can I bring into the event? Due to the food and alcohol sales of the restaurant, no outside food or drink is allowed. There will also be an apron, tools, and cake boxes available to each student! What a great day....I just have to share the good news!!! We just finished a Medical Assistant class in Ridgecrest this Wednesday. We had 8 out of 9 successfully finish the class and 7 out of 8 felt like they were ready to take the CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) exam today!! ALL 7 students PASSED!!!!!! Is that incredible or WHAT!!!!!! The 8th student will take it next week or the week after. Phlebotomy students have been required to pass the CPT test for 11... years now so this year we made the decision to require the MA students to pass the CCMA test as well! I don’t believe any other school requires that a certification exam be passed in order to pass their program!! Setting this requirement has forced us to work harder to ensure that students get the needed education to make it a success!!! We are committed to encourage, empower, and push each student to reach their highest potential! At Liberty Career College we don’t settle for mediocrity we encourage and expect students to give their best!!! Patient care is just to important for anything less than the very best! Students work harder than ever and feel so accomplished when they complete the program!! Our program isn’t a piece of cake for some but for those students who are willing to be pushed, held accountable and willing to put in hard work and dedication it all pays off in the end!!! A recent class in Bakersfield had the same exact numbers as Ridgecrest. 8 out of 9 passed the class. 7 out of 8 passed CCMA exam on first attempt and 1 remaining student will take it within next 2-3 weeks. The one remaining student continued on to Phlebotomy and just passed the CPT exam this week! Summer is winding down and we’ve got over 25 students now between weekend and weekday classes!!
