I had a great conversation with a couple of members during Tuesday’s warm up about mindset and associating yourself with those who fuel you not drag you down. When Terry tells people where she works out, they tell her she’s crazy, then proceed to tell her why she shouldn’t be working out that way. Luckily for Terry, she doesn’t give a sh** about what other people’s limitations for her are! Her response in her own words I guess I’m crazy then!... She comes in, gets the work done and repeats 3-4x per week despite her bad knee, despite her age, despite what other people think. Tuesday’s workout happened to have some box jumps and muscle ups in the programming, which are high power and high skill movements. She didn’t avoid it. We modified the movements and we got to work! It doesn’t matter where you’re at or what limitations you think you have. You can do this or any other form of exercise, with proper coaching and scaling. Terry is only one example in our box. We have complete beginners, killer athletes and those with injuries and limitations, ranging from 11 years old to 60+. If you are wondering where to start, what you can do, how to work around an injury, worried because you are a beginner or anything else. STOP! We Got You Covered! Be like Terry and just show up and do the work!

It’s Monday!! This post goes out to all the Parents out there! Today is a big day as the little guys get to go back to school! The world has been literally upside down backwards for the past year and this is great to see these guys get their social lives back. And you parents getting a few hours back for yourselves! ... You parents have been balancing your careers, responsibilities and family life with your new found job as a homeschool teacher. It’s been tough but you know what? You f****** did it! You made it happen! Even though it wasn’t ideal, you adapted and made the best of it. Now that you have a few hours back in your schedule I’d like to remind you the lesson we should have learned from this year your health cannot be taken for granted! You cannot expect to give the best possible version of yourself to your little ones if you aren’t taking care of yourself physically or mentally. Running on coffee, with no real nutrition, no physical activity and no healthy outlet for your stress is a quick recipe to run yourself into the ground. So how effective are you really being? We hear moms tell us all the time that they can’t workout because they feel like it’s selfish to take that time away for themselves. But is it really? Is it really selfish to take 1 Hour of your day to exercise, eat right, read or any other activity to better yourself? 1 hour equals 4% of your day 4%!!!! With the other 96% going to your loved ones. You aren’t worth 4%!? Yes You Are! Our challenge to all you parents who have a couple extra hours back in your week, is to use that time to get right! Exercise, meal prep for yourself, read a book, whatever! Just take that 4% to make sure the 96% of the time you give to you family is more effective! You Are Worth It!

It’s Monday! Mondays serve as a reset for most of us. A chance to redeem ourselves from the previous week, a chance to be better, or to have a more positive outlook on the world. ... When it comes to taking care of yourself there are many obstacles that get in the way. The kids, work, family, never ending chores at home, traffic... you name it! If I’m being honest... we all have the same problems! We all have the mostly the same hurdles to overcome. We all have the same set of responsibilities, even though they may present themselves in different ways and times. So what’s the difference between those who are successfully working on their health and those who aren’t? Desire... It’s really that simple... We all have the same amount of time in the day and although our ideal time to work on ourselves will never fall in our laps, it’s on us to make it happen! Whether we choose to get to the gym and make a healthy dinner or pick up something on the way home and hit the couch is purely a matter of desire to make changes. It’s not easy to get ready, pack the kids up, drive to the gym, hit a hard workout, pack the kids back up, drive home, make dinner, shower, hit the hay and do it all over again tomorrow. It can be quite stressful at first. Just like everything else life throws at you, it will get easier! It becomes routine and a part of your new lifestyle. There will always be someone out there who has a harder job, a few more kids and activities to manage, sits in traffic longer, and gets less sleep who will find time to make sure their health, wellbeing and sanity is a priority. The excuses will always be there, you’ll always have an out. To be successful, you have to be stronger than your strongest excuse #hesperia #victorville #oakhills

Sundays are for active recovery! Most of us have Sundays off. From work, family obligations & parties, and life in general. Worldwide, it is usually a day of rest.... It’s also a good day to practice some recovery from a week of hitting WODs and the day to day. We know you probably don’t do that enough during the week with all your responsibilities ) You can easily spend some time: 1. Foam rolling 2. Stretching (@romwod is a great tool we love! They program short daily stretches.) 3. Taking a walk with the family 4. Running/ jogging 1 mile 5. Yoga 6. 50 burpees (J.K. ) EVERY part of your body needs to be addressed when trying to become healthy. Muscles, tendons, and ligaments need more than just strength training. Spending time foam rolling and stretching is necessary for overall health. If anyone tells you different, tell them to buzz off Unplug from media and spend some time recovering your body (and hopefully your mind). See y’all tomorrow when we are back to the grind and hitting those WODs. Y’all are owning life right now. One of the most overlooked aspects of health by a long shot is mental health. ... The most overlooked aspect of this pandemic is mental health. Kids are forced to stay home, parents can’t go to work, people are feeling isolated and depressed. Businesses are closing. Many are turning to drinking and drugs. Domestic violence and suicide are through the roof. There appears to be no end in sight. The good news is you’re only one workout away from a change in mental health. Not only is it a positive and constructive habit to build on, it’s also the key to regulating your own hormone production, increasing endorphins (happy hormones), better sleep, and boosting confidence. And we’re talking about one workout! Imagine if you did that 3-5 times per week! When I’m having a crap day, or in my own head, the one thing that is sure to put me back in my happy place is getting my butt kicked during a workout. It’s a nice distraction for my monkey brain, and often times I just don’t care about the problem anymore. I’m laughing after class with our members and all is better. It’s not going to solve all problems, but at least I know my mental state will be better suited to work on them. Taking care of your body is a prescription for taking care of your mental health. The evidence is there to prove it. It only takes one step in the right direction. Just come in! When you’re feeling down... get out of your head and get into your body! (If anyone is struggling with any of the above, shoot us a message! Let’s get you feeling better! We’re here to help)

Happy New Year, y’all! We hope as you look back on 2020 you dwell on all the blessings and personal growth you’ve had. We also hope you’ve set high goals to make 2020 your best year yet! We can help you meet those fitness and health goals!... We are getting back into the (social media) swing of things by posting on today’s coach of the day! Our coach of the day is Coach Ryan. A husband, father of 4, school teacher, and coach at Liberation Fitness, Ryan is an inspiration to many. He’s humble, strong, quick, and a great leader in and out of the gym. His active lifestyle doesn’t start or stop at our doors. This guy bike rides, does yard work, and plays with his kiddos on the regular helping them develop a healthy lifestyle as well. He’s lost 9% body fat and gained so much strength since joining Liberation and we are glad to have him as one of our coaches! One of the most enjoyable and funny characteristics of Coach Ryan is his honesty. When he filled out our health survey when first joining Liberation, he rated his likeliness to change his lifestyle as a 2 Here’s a little about coach Ryan in his own words: I started at Liberation Fitness in December 2017 only to temporarily support my wife at her request. I had no intention of staying at any gym, but Liberation quickly became a significant part of my life as I enjoyed the encouraging atmosphere and I experienced many positive results. I’ve lost a significant amount of body fat, and I have enjoyed getting stronger as I have consistently put the time and effort into working out and eating well. I decided to become a certified coach in September 2019. We all know good health/fitness doesn’t come easy and I’m grateful to help get people through the struggle safely and with their best effort. My favorite workouts are the ones that have a back and forth switch from anaerobic to aerobic, such as pushing a really heavy bar over my head and then jumping on a rower.
