The State of California has issued a Limited Stay at Home order for residents of counties in the Purple Tier, which includes Santa Clara County. The order requires non-essential work, movement and gatherings cease between the hours of 10 PM and 5 AM. The order commences, November 21 and ends on December 21. We encourage all residents of Los Gatos and Monte Sereno to follow this order, but please do not call 911 to report violations. Calling 911 to report COVID-19 violations t...ies up lines for people experiencing life-threatening emergencies. If you must call to report such a violation, use our non-emergency Dispatch line at 408-354-8600. You may also submit a concern about violations of any public health order by visiting www.SCCCovidConcerns.org and completing an online form or by contacting the Santa Clara County Business Call Center at 408-961-5500. #LGMSPolice @losgatosca #montesereno See more

It is with deep sadness that we announce @LGMSPolice Retired K9-Berko was laid to rest on 9/14/20. Berko was generously donated to the Department by the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Foundation in 2010. He and his human partner, Officer John Alldredge served the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno communities for eight years until Berko’s service retirement in 2018. Aside from his patrol duties, Berko was specially trained in narcotics detection and tracking techniques. In his retirement..., Berko enjoyed being a beloved member of the Alldredge family and keeping a watchful eye on Officer Alldredge’s children. K9 Berko, thank you for your service! Rest in peace, K9 Kaz has the watch now #K9Police #EOW K9 Berko- 1/22/09-9/14/20

The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) has identified September as Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Every year thousands of individuals die by suicide, leaving family and friends to navigate the tragic loss, often wondering why it happened. In law enforcement, there is a particular stigma attached to suicide that prevents us from talking about it openly. LGMSPD wants to be part of the effort to raise awareness and shed light on this phenomena in hopes of providing hope, promoting resources and saving lives. #suicideawareness #lgmspd @losgatosca

Santa Clara County is at the Red Risk Level under the State’s new COVID-19 reopening framework. That means certain activities can resume, and certain businesse...s can reopen indoor operations at reduced capacity. Some indoor businesses and activities are still too high risk to allow at this time, however, and the local Santa Clara County order and directives ensure that people who live in the county are protected from these risks. For example, movie theaters, indoor gatherings, and indoor dining are not yet permitted to reopen under Santa Clara County’s Order. Remember to follow the more restrictive set of rules. Continue to keep your distance, wear your mask, and get tested. On September 3, 2020 officers were dispatched to a report of a burglary in progress. The victim woke up to an unknown person in the residence. The suspect fled the residence when he saw the victim. The only description was a male in dark clothing and a bicycle was stolen from their garage. One of our officers conducted a traffic enforcement stop and during a probation search of the vehicle, methamphetamine, paraphernalia, burglary tools, and a mountain bike were found. The victim confirmed that the bicycle was theirs. The suspects were arrested. #busted #lgmspolice #losgatos #crime
