LGBTQ Pride Readings 28.04.2021

Vincent Meis has just published his fifth novel, FOUR CALLING BIRDS. He reads excerpts from this work at his first San Francisco reading next Wednesday, February 19, 7pm at Dog Eared Books Castro, 489 Castro St. Free admission. A book signing follows the reading. http://bit.ly/2vcq83R Meis's four previous novels were Eddie’s Desert Rose (2011), Tio Jorge (2012), Down in Cuba (2013), and Deluge (2016). Tio Jorge received a Rainbow Award in the category of Bisexual Fiction in 2012. Down in Cuba received two Rainbow Awards in 2013 and Deluge a Rainbow Award in 2016. Recently, his stories have been published in three collections: WITH: New Gay Fiction, Best Gay Erotica 2015, and Best Gay Erotica, Vol. 1. He has published pieces in publications such as The Advocate, LA Weekly, In Style, and Our World. He lives in San Leandro with his husband.

LGBTQ Pride Readings 03.04.2021

Odd Mondays is back September 9 with "Aging: Representations on Screen and in Print," guest-curated by Maxine Einhorn of the Mostly Britsh Film Festival and Noe... Valley Word Week. Sheila Malkind, executive director of the Legacy Film Festival on Aging, will talk about film. Her festival celebrates the aging process cinematically, with films that portray many facets of this unique, ever-changing experience honestly, artfully, and with compassion and love. Nan Narboe discusses the written word as editor of Aging: An Apprenticeship, an anthology of essays on aging by the likes of Gloria Steinem, Judy Blume, Andrew McCarthy, and others. Signed copies of the book and information on the film festival will be available. Join us at our new time slot, 6:30pm to 7:30pm, at Folio Books San Francisco, 3957 24th St. in Noe Valley. Free admission and free refreshments.
