WE ARE {still} OPEN! These past 7 months have been a rollercoaster. Shutdown, to online, to open, to shutdown, back online, open, shutdown kinda, to the park, back online due to bad air quality (because your overall health matters), to back open at AMPT! If you read all that, give yourself a high five! If you lived through all that, we wish we could hug you! ... Now for a story about these awesome pictures! We had met Matt (@mattspoli @highflierpro) a few months back; and we loved that he was not only pivoting during all this, but he was seeking to use his talents to help others! He started #WereOpenElkGrove, and we are so grateful we had the opportunity to work with him! We had planned to meet with him last month, but we had to reschedule; planning to meet at the park last Tuesday. Then, we got the call that we could go back inside! He met us at the gym and was able to see and capture some of the excitement the AMPT Fam felt coming back to their happy place! We are so grateful to have that documented. Thank you Matt! And thanks AMPT Fam for sticking with us! We could never tell you enough how grateful we are for the support, love, push, smiles, laughs, and tears shed during the last 7 months. We know where we belong because of you! Let’s finish this crazy year stronger, together!

Have you ever said, " I need to eat more veggies", or been told that you should "get in more protein"? Such great ideas... but what does that look like or mean? How do you know that you are getting enough of something in the first place, or that you're actually getting more?... We have 3 systems to help you: System 1: One way is to eat your normal for a week, track your food, and then add 1-2 more servings of what ever it is you are deficient in. System 2: Us the Hand Portion Guide (Second Picture) to set your baseline. For most people looking to improve health aim for the following per meal: 1-2 Palms of Protein 1-2 Fist of Veggies 1-2 Cupped Scoops of Smart Carbs (more fiber than sugar) 1-2 Thumbs of Healthy Fats System 3: You can ask us to set you up with a Personalized Nutrition Guide that includes a simple personalized tracking sheet like in picture 3! Once you have a food baseline; eat consistently for 2 weeks, see how your body feels and reacts, and then make the right adjustments for you!

Exhaustion doesn't equal a good workout! Every now and then it’s ok to push your self and see what you got, but it should also be planned and not every workout. Most workouts should progressively move you towards your goal. Progress can look like running a little faster, lifting a little more weight, working in a few more reps, adding a round, or taking a few seconds less break. The possibilities to progress are endless. ... Aiming for 1% better everyday adds up, Rome wasn’t built in a day folks!

When thinking about what foods to bring into your house we like to use the Red, Yellow, Green light system. Ideally, you don’t want bring in those Red Light foods into your house so that you set yourself up for success. You may have a few Yellow Light Foods for a special treat 1-2 times per week. ... Then fill your pantry and fridge with Green Light Foods that make you feel good and satisfied. Everyone is different when it come to their foods. For example, I cant have chips or cheez-its in the house; for Roni it’s sweets. We have them occasionally, they are definitely not considered BAD food. We have just learned the limits of our self control, and want to eat foods that help us feel our best. Red Light Foods general include: - foods that your allergic or sensitive to - foods/drinks that are gateways to other bad choices. Yellow Light Foods: - Foods that you eat on occasion and not every day, they aren’t tempting but don’t really help you feel your best. - Foods that you eat and can stop when you satisfied. Green Light Foods: - Foods that help you feel satisfied and good. They get you #AMPTforLife ! - You can eat them everyday! Generally they are: - Lean Proteins - Smart Carbs - Healthy Fats - Fruits and Vegetables What are you Red, Yellow, and Green Light Foods?

Knowing where you want to go is important, but how are you going to get there? And what happens if you have to take a detour? When we focus on the outcome, we can be discouraged or left feeling like we are waiting to get where we want to go. Setting process goals help us to create that road map. ... The process goals let us focus on the daily or weekly tasks that will get us to our desired outcome, and feel accomplished along the way. It also gives us the flexibility to change course as life happens without feeling like we have failed. So what are you going to do today, and the day after that, to become who you want to be?
