Our donor car for the Alston strut design is a '68 Camaro, it belongs to the Santa Maria High School Drag Racing Class in Santa Maria California. The program is organized and taught by Matthew Almague. He does a really great job with the kids It has a 565 cu.in. BBC with a standard deck block and AFR heads and makes 1000 HP. Because this header is so short (average 19"- 20" primary lengths),we built a 2 1/8" primary size with 4" collectors and installed our NEW Lemon Bomb 4" X 6" long mufflers. If it was a longer tube header, like an under the car style, they average about 30" to 31", primary length. We would have built a 2 1/4" primary with 4" collectors. With a short primary header you typically have to use a smaller tube size to maintain the torque with a normally aspirated motor. A short tube acts like a bigger tube.
