Calling all Legacy, of any age, and friends. Our Thru the Bible-One chapter a day program moves on to the book of 1 Kings tomorrow, Friday. Each morning, go to the Legacy Men Faithlife App and find the chapter for the day. We will not be using the Facebook page for this study anymore. Our plan is to: 1) Pray it- That means to pray prior to reading the chapter and ask the Holy Spirit to teach and illuminate His word to you. 2) Read it- As you read the chapter pay attent...ion to what verse or verses God is alerting you to. 3) Write it- Then write out the verse in the comment section on Faithlife. 4) Share it- In this portion of the study share with the rest of us what God is saying in that verse. We will actually post the verse on the evening before, feel free to comment in the evening if that works better for you. We are hoping to read and study God's word together and help each other with understanding the scriptures. We look forward to glorifying God, through the study of His Word. Jesus worked powerfully in Legacy Church in 2021 and we believe even greater things are coming in 2022. - We are seeing life transformation through the joining of new members who have received Jesus and are now serving in the church. - We reached thousands this year through community events including our Summer, Harvest, and Christmas Festivals. - We baptized half of the total number of baptisms in Los Angeles County Southern Baptist churches. - We hired staff members who are effectively ministering to the church and the community. - We aligned the church's governance to the Bible and have found victory and peace at the end of a 40 year battle. 2022 will unveil the future direction of Legacy Church, that has been defined by Christian Leaders as the creation of what will become an emerging trend for American Churches. The new year will bring what we are calling the Legacy Layers. We will be equipped for growth in our Upward Worship, Forward Leadership, and Outward Love! Legacy Church and Everybody Else, We have an opportunity on this day to pray and to love others. Never have we experienced a year of such internal division. Wha...t a blessing to be able to bring unity in Jesus. No matter who you want to win, Jesus has already won. He will not be overcome. There is no reason to fear. We have no reason for tears. Jesus is our King if the person we want becomes President. Jesus is our King if the person we don't want becomes President. America is the place Jesus has placed us to shine His light. We are not here to contribute to the darkness of the world. 1 Corinthians 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought. Be encouraged and know that while political involvement is of great importance for our world, nation, and lives, it is not so important that we have room to be divided over our preferences in the church. If Donald Trump is elected, let us love one another. If Joseph Biden is elected, let us love one another. If someone voted for a candidate different than who you voted for, let us love one another. If anyone can't do this, they don't know Jesus or His love. Beware of those saying, "You have to be like me." The only person we need to be like is Jesus. 1 Corinthians 1:11 Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. Legacy Church welcomes all who desire to encounter Jesus, from the farthest right, to the farthest left, to everything in between, because without Jesus we are all at the depths of the lowest low. How would Jesus have us vote? For the policies that best align with biblical policies so we can worship the true King freely. At the end of the day, Jesus will place the candidate we deserve, so let us be a people who deserve a blessing and not a curse. "Lord Jesus, grant Legacy Church the peace to be a people who reflect your unity in this time of division. Let our love be great for those different than us. Let our hope be strong in the provision of Christ. Allow our President to be one who will fall on his knees before you, and lead the nation toward you. Happy Halloween week! What an amazing day God blessed us with. Leaders from Legacy Church spent the last several months planning, learning, and executing to cre...ate a Trunk or Treat experience that was both family fun, and Covid-19 friendly. Honestly, we didn't know if the event was going to be a ghost town or not. I walked the campus and asked Jesus to fill Legacy Church with life and to bring our city to His church. When the event started, Jesus started sending waves of people. We saw the campus filled with hundreds of people, many who were new to our church (and yes, everyone did an excellent job following the Covid-19 guidelines.) During this harvest season, let us not forget the Word teaches the harvest of the church is awaiting workers in the field. People are still looking for Jesus in the Covid-19 world, and I'm so proud of my team for delivering Jesus through the 2020 Trunk or Treat!
