New video on our YouTube channel! Last month we were honored to premiere David Dominique's serene trio "Soft-Spoken" on our season-opening concert: https://youtu.be/jbSbYt4tujc... Notes from the composer: "In the Summer of 2020, I had put aside music for a bit to focus on Black Lives Matter activism and political journalism. The extroversion and sheer loudness [literal and figurative]required in these domains became me. I accepted these personal adjustments as necessary adjuncts to the work I was doing, but in Soft-Spoken I've taken the opportunity to become something else. Unity has been important to me lately." Unity of being, Unity of purpose. So this trio is about individuals becoming one for the sole purpose of moving together gracefully, quietly, in no rush, and for each other only.

Great write-up by Joshua Kosman in the San Francisco Chronicle Datebook! Soft-Spoken premieres Monday, Sept 21st at 7:30pm. "The range of things a flute can do especially in the hands of a gifted practitioner like Stacey Pelinka is impressively broad. [...] All these moves promise to figure in Soft-Spoken, the forthcoming online concert by the Left Coast Chamber Ensemble, with Pelinka tapped as the headliner. The program takes its title from a featured world premiere by composer and bandleader David Dominique, which promises to showcase the flute’s talent for insinuation." https://datebook.sfchronicle.com//left-coast-chamber-ensem
