There is some exciting news on the Leap Solutions team front. We are thrilled to share that Judy Coffey and Team Leap are a key part of the Sonoma County vaccination program roll-out. We have been asked to leap the community stakeholder engagement working with all sectors and industries to inform stakeholders and receive their feedback on the roll-out process. The key issue is there are not enough vaccines available BUT we are proactively engaging the stakeholders so we can launch as more vaccines pour into our community. Team Leap (Susana and Scott) just had the pleasure of facilitating the Leadership Santa Rosa (LSR) Class 37 virtual Launch Retreat. We had the pleasure of working with 25 leaders in Sonoma County over two-days and facilitated the building of their class culture for the next two years of the program. We enjoyed meeting them and being a part of their community. They are a group of authentic leaders.

On March 18, 2020, President Trump signed legislation extending paid sick leave and paid family leave benefits to millions of Americans to slow the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. This legislation contains the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act and the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act, both of which become effective on April 2, 2020. The Act applies to employers with 1 to 499 employees. Employers with 500 or more employees do not have to comply with this law. The Act expires on December 31, 2020. The Act covers numerous activities including free testing for the virus, unemployment aid, nutritional programs, paid sick leave, and changes to FMLA. We will cover in detail the leave sections of the Act.
