Jeff and Beckey are now living in NY state... the financial burden of LBVE was too much to allow for them to continue living in Long Beach. This page will remain alive for the time being and they encourage their friends and regular customers to stay in touch with them through Facebook.

The past few weeks have been an annoying roller coaster ride. First the landlord gives us a month or so to sell the restaurant... Then he finds someone to rent the building to immediately and we have until September 1st to get all of the equipment out of building... Then he decides to not go with that person, but has another person lined up... Now, he's not renting to anyone, but wants to demolish the building and build new, but it's going to take 3-4 months for his architect... to design the plans and have them approved by the city. All of these scenarios are great for the landlord and terrible for us leaving us very little room to recoup any of our losses, which are monumental. Turned over the keys to the landlord today... it was kind of surreal... I mean, for just shy of two years we did everything in our power to keep all of the equipment running and the refrigerators/freezers fully stocked. Seeing the place dark and empty with all of the refrigerator and freezer doors wide open while handing back the keys was pretty rough. The restaurant is available, so if you know anyone who is interested in opening up a restaurant in the location, send them our way to talk about purchasing the equipment. The landlord is great and will be more than happy to sign a new lease with the new buyer.

Today was our farewell staff party. Not everyone could make it, but we had most of our current staff and a handful of ex-staffers... all permanent members of the LBVE family!

Jeff's friend Geert Hollanders from Control Records Belgium and his friends stopped by LBVE today for lunch!

Thursday August 1st will be our last day of business! So come on in one last time for your favorite meal and to say goodbye. We want to thank everyone again who contributed to our Go Fund Me Campaign. We were able to raise enough money to cover our 2nd Quarter Sales Tax, so at least the government won't be breathing down our neck. The fundraiser will remain active because we still need money and will unfortunately be paying down the debt for LBVE over the next 5-10 years.
