Dear friend of the Long Beach Camerata Singers and of the arts, We are disappointed to announce we have made the difficult decision to postpone the Peace Project IV: Peace for the Earth. In these turbulent times, we need Peace for the Earth and all of its inhabitants more than ever. However, we will have to wait a little bit longer in order to safely lift our voices to celebrate the beauty and solace we find in nature. At the Camerata we serve the community and are esse...ntially the voice of greater Long Beach. This decision was made entirely to ensure the safety of our singers, staff, and community. Even though our strategy to execute Peace Project IV mitigated the risk of spreading COVID-19 as much as possible, there was still a small chance that the virus could be spread. We now face a potential redoubling of the COVID crisis and therefore health and safety concerns must supersede art for the moment. We also know that live music, a beautiful artistic experience, is very important for all of us to be together. Peace Project IV is not cancelled; the concert is tentatively scheduled for some time in early 2021. We wish you all health and well-being. Look for us in February! Mt. Shasta's brilliance captures the spirit of LBCS's Peace Project IV. Considered a potentially active volcano, Shasta reminds us of nature's awesome power.

As LBCS continues to celebrate planet Earth in preparation for Peace Project IV, we'll highlight some natural landmarks we have right here in California. Death Valley is the perfect spot to highlight Earth's overwhelming power. Earlier this summer, the valley reached 130F one of the highest reliable air temperature recordings.
