I offer free consultations. Not a lot of lawyers do that anymore. I believe you should have the opportunity to speak with your potential lawyer before committing to hiring them. The free part of my initial consultation lasts 30 minutes. Words to the wise: don't waste it. Don't call me from a place where you don't have privacy. Don't call me where there's a lot of background noise, bad cell reception, interruptions, and DON'T PUT ME ON HOLD. Don't call me from a place or at a time when you cannot give the call your undivided attention. Never call me from your car when the kids are in the back seat or from a room in your home within hearing distance of children. And DON'T PUT ME ON HOLD. It's your time. It's free. It's 30 minutes. Don't waste it.
Representing yourself in a divorce or custody matter to save money, will end up costing you a lot more in the end.Representing yourself in a divorce or custody matter to save money, will end up costing you a lot more in the end.
Did you know, approximately 40 million individuals entered California courts in person annually before the pandemic, often traveling significant distances in private vehicles and on public transportation to appear at hearings or to otherwise conduct their court business. During the pandemic, with the use of remote technology for handling cases, the number of individuals who entered courthouses in person dropped to 12 million. Technology has also opened up the entire state to... attorneys who were previously limited to representing clients who lived or wanted to file their cases in locations close to where their attorney's office was located. I'm now able to represent clients state-wide and make court appearances from the office via audio or video feeds. With Zoom, Microsoft Teams, phone, email, etc. I can meet with you anywhere! See more
"Parent" is a noun and a verb.
Question of the Day: "do you still have to pay child support if she graduates at 17?" This, in a nutshell. Some people really don't get what it means to be a parent. Some people were just not meant to have children. And they are still your children even when they turn 18, 20, 30, 40, 50, etc.
www.culvercityfamilylawfirm.com I just got a new client. He has a prenup. Under normal circumstances, i.e. a valid prenup; one drafted by an attorney and reviewed by another attorney on behalf of the fiancee -- there'd be no issues regarding division of property, of debt or regarding spousal support (aka alimony). BUT, he didn't use an attorney. He drafted the prenup himself and he presented it to his then-fiancee less than 2 weeks before the wedding date. English is no...t fiancee's first language. She did not have an attorney helping her out and she did not use an interpreter to review the prenup (she used Google translate). Guess what. Prenup is invalid. My client owns multiple income producing properties - all purchased before the date of marriage. He has retirement, investment accounts, and at least 7 different bank accounts and credit cards. He took a short cut when getting his prenup and it is back-firing on him. Don't be like my client. GET A PRE NUP and do it right - hire an attorney to draft it for you and don't wait until the last minute. See more
Here's how to destroy your marriage on #FamilyFeud! #SteveHarvey says, "Take the 'X'!"
A Prenuptial Agreement has nothing to do with not trusting your partner. In fact it is the opposite. It is tangible proof that your love is real and each of you is entering into a marriage for the same reasons. It gives you each an opportunity, ahead of time, to evaluate your assets and debts in a concrete fashion, and make a plan for success. During the process of getting a prenuptial agreement, as a couple you gain concrete insights about yourself and your partner. You gain an accurate depiction of each other's separate property; and develop a plan for managing assets and debts together. Questions? Give us a call: www.culvercityfamilylawfirm.com
Planning a summer wedding? It's time to plan your prenuptial agreement. www.culvercityfamilylawfirm.com
A potential "new" client called me this morning. She also called me in 2017 because she was getting married and wanted to talk about getting a prenuptial agreement. She did not hire me in 2017 and she never got that pre nup. Today she retained me to help her with her divorce. Just sayin'
It’s that time of year again. Planning a Christmas, New Years or Valentines Day wedding or proposal? Now is the time to get that prenuptial agreement. Don’t wait until the last minute. Plan your financial life together with as much effort as you plan your big day. www.culvercityfamilylawfirm.com
Talk to me about setting up a revocable living trust to help your heirs avoid estate/inheritance taxes.
Should this be included in your prenup?
