The question keeps coming up; when should I hire an attorney for my disability case? I tell people to wait until the first denial. I know some law offices take people from the initial application. But, the reality is that on the rare, and I mean rare, occasion that a person does get approved at the initial step, they are angry at having to pay the lawyer for what is perceived as very little work. Of course, there is more to it than clients realize. But I prefer that the person get all the money and not pay me at that stage.

I've been doing social security disability since 2003. Thre have been many changes through though the years. One problem is that it's getting more and more difficult to get approved due to changes in their rules and regs, changes in the demeanor of judges and a lot of new judges who seem to be trained that it's their job to be a prosecutor which has turned the administrative hearings into, for the most part, adversarial proceedings.

Updating my skills as I'm now doing social security disability, criminal law, and will be doing wills/trusts soon. I'm very excited to be expanding my offerings.
