The second photo is me playing at my recital when I was 11... and rocking the 90s hair and outfit, right?! Such great memories. This beauty is my Grandma Ruth. Playing the piano was our special bond. This Chopin song was made into a popular love song that was hers and my grandpa’s song so she always requested it when I visited. I played it for both her and my grandpa Ray’s funerals as well. I’m grateful for her love of music that she passed on to not only me but so many in our family. #givethanks

A fellow LPM teacher is in an orchestra which is broadcasting their concert this Sunday at 4pm (Alaska time). They are playing an arrangement of Carmen (aka Magical Lamp!) for strings and percussion. One of my main inspirations for becoming a Let’s Play Music teacher was my own children. It’s been a challenge at times to keep them believing that music is fun, but this program makes it so much easier. I’m so grateful I get to share the gift of music with them, and that they love it! #givethanks
