It's stories like the one seen here that make me truly proud and fortunate to be a woman. These women were pioneers. With an open mind and ingenuity, they changed the course of science and history. Like these women from centuries before, my female colleagues (past and present) and I continue to influence others by fostering an inclusive workplace and society. As I reflect on #WomensHistoryMonth, I want to take a moment to salute the many Organizational Development (#OD) female trailblazers I've had the opportunity to learn from over the past 30+ years. You've touched countless lives, have empowered future generations of women and have left an indelible mark on both the world and my life. I'm grateful to have had my early career influenced by Billie Alban, Sonya Nevis of #GISC, Barbara Bunker, Jane Watkins and Edie Seashore of #NTL.
This January, the federal government released a comprehensive strategy for beating COVID-19. Included within the 200-page document were #Goals for restoring #Trust among Americans. Does your return-to-work strategy include solutions for building trust among employees? As team leaders, coaches, managers and professionals who support them it is vital, now more than ever, that trust be a factor in decisions on loosening workplace restrictions.
When developing your company's return-to-work-strategy, consider completing a #Strengths, #Weaknesses, #Opportunities and #Threats (SWOT) analysis. Rather than following the usual format, this Harvard Business Review article recommends completing your chart in the opposite order. Looking at external conditions first and identifying the internal attributes of a situation later on can help you generate better, more clear-cut and supported ideas moving forward. I'd love to hear your thoughts on using this inverted method to evaluate and develop solutions for overcoming the threats to psychological safety currently faced by #Managers, #Teams and organizations.
