Where do I start I use a plethora of tools. Sometimes it can be just an object laying around the studio that I grab that creates a unique marking. Traditional brushes, Rubber Brushes (some of my favorite for seeing the layers underneath), Masonry Brushes, Broom heads, Screen printing screens, printmaking Brayers, plastic and metal scrapers, rags, I save OJ containers and take out containers to store paint, Ketchup bottles to splatter paint, Mod podges, Tape, Paper, ol...d canvas cutting, pencils, charcoal , Oil Pastels - I never limit myself to the Art supply store! What aspect of art most influences my work? Color, Color, Color! The foundation of every piece I create, providing energy and emotion. I draw my inspiration from the color combinations I find in nature, especially in my travels. The Caribbean Sea and the Sea of Abaco may be the most colorfully stunning places I have ever visited. Space & environment: A crucial aspect to our lives! I believe this can apply to everyone- environments play such a large role in what we do everyday. A dedicated space with a specifically curated environment will keep you inspired and will help you keep focused in your craft. Prior to getting my studio, it felt like I wasn't really growing as an artist because I was limited by space. Since I set up my studio, I’ve been able to dedicate space to my paints, canvas and tools to ...maximize my ability to create. This new space has allowed me to focus on what I love to do most- Paint! I never have to worry about cleaning up when I leave, instead when I come back the next day I can start right back where I left off.
